Deportiva La Coruna have announced the inking of deal with Uche Agbo on loan from Belgian First Division A club Standard Liege.
Agbo, a central midfielder, cut short his loan spell with Sporting Braga in Portugal that was due to expire at the end of the 2019-2020 season before joining Deportivo on loan for the remaining portion of the campaingn.
Agbo passed a medical exam at the HM Modelo Hospital last week and has dropped by at the facilities of the Sports City of Abegondo and the ABANCA-RIAZOR Stadium to witness his would-be new teammates in action.
The 24-year-old played with Taraba, JUTH, and Enyimba before joining Udinese in 2013 after a successful trial and his other clubs in Europe that include Granada, Watford, and Rayo Vallecano.
Agbo was a member of the Nigerian team to the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup. Five years later, he was named to the country’s provisional roster for the senior World Cup.
An option to extend Agbo’s contract has been included into the deal, which takes him to Deportivo.
He could make his first appearance for his new club when they face Albacete in a league game on Sunday (January 26, 2020). Deportivo currently sit 20th in the table with 24 points from 24 games.
