John “Jack” Schlossberg is an American lawyer and political writer. Although he comes from the prominent Kennedy family, Schlossberg has been slowly carving his name through several public appearances (and one rare acting stint).

John Schlossberg — early life and family

John Bouvier Kennedy Schlossberg, famously known as Jack Schlossberg, was born on January 19, 1993 in New York City, United States of America.

Jack’s mother, Caroline Bouvier Kennedy, is the former US Ambassador to Japan and soon-to-be-appointed US Ambassador to Australia. His father, Edwin Schlossberg, is a Columbina University-educated designer, artist, and author specializing in designing interactive experiences.

Jack comes from the prominent Kennedy family. He is the only grandson of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, later known as Jacqueline Onassis. Jack is the nephew of the late John F. Kennedy, Jr., a lawyer and magazine publisher who died in a plane crash in 1999.

Jack Schlossberg has two older sisters: Rose, who is an up-and-coming actress and comedian; and Tatiana, a journalist and author.

John “Jack” Schlossberg — education

While growing up, Jack Schlossberg was raised in his mother’s Roman Catholic religion. But since his father is Jewish, Jack also observed Jewish traditions, holidays, and holy days.

When he was in eighth grade, Jack co-founded a non-profit organization called ReLight New York, which raised more than $100,000 to install energy-efficient light bulbs to low-income familes around New York City and promote enviromental awareness.

Schlossberg graduated from Yale University in 2015 with a degree in history with a focus on Japanese history. Then he received his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Harvard Law School in early 2022.

Career and public appearances

Following his graduation from Yale in 2015, Schlossberg went to Tokyo, Japan to live with his mother, who was then US ambassador to Japan at the time. From there, he made further public appearances both in US and Japan and naturally, he came under the spotlight.

While in Tokyo, Schlossberg also began working at a Japanese Internet and e-commerce company. In 2016, he worked for US Department of State and then for the Japanese-based brewing, distilling, and beverage firm Suntory Holdings.

Jack Schlossberg has also appeared on TV programs and documentaries based on his clan’s political history. He even made his acting debut as Officer Jack Hammer on the eighth-season finale on the CBS crime drama series Blue Bloods.

In addition to these pursuits, Jack is a political writer who has worked for several publications, notably the magazine Politico. He has expressed his keen interest in joining politics, particularly joining the Democractic party — not surprising for someone coming from a powerful political family.

Schlossberg endorsed Hillary Clinton as a presidential candidate in the 2016 Presidential elections in the US.

His good looks are also the talk of the online world. He bears a faint resemblance to his late uncle, John F. Kennedy, Jr.
