Buhari easily not seen at UK summit dinner for African leaders – Nigerians react

Nigerians react to President Buhari’s no-show

The members of the British royal family, led by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Princess Kate, hosted a cross-section of African leaders who are in the UK for the UK-Africa Investment Summit (that started yesterday), to a dinner session.

Several African leaders, such as Ghanian President Nana Akufo-Addo, Rwanda President Paul Kagame, and others were in attendance. However, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was noticeably absent, but was represented by Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

President Buhari’s no-show at the summit’s dinner didn’t go unnoticed and otherwise trended on social media as Nigerians reacted to it on social media.

Imani (on Twitter):

“Please where is Buhari? I thought he went for the Africa UK business summit? Or did he branch his doctor’s office and forgot why he is in the UK?”

Ayemojubar (on Twitter):

“Members of the Royal Family welcomed Heads of State and Government officials. Wait oh! Where is Buhari?”
